Frequently Asked Questions About Residence Permit (ÇEVİRİ)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RESIDENCE PERMITS
1. WHAT IS THE COST OF OBTAINING A RESIDENCE PERMIT?
You will encounter varying costs when obtaining a residence permit. First of all, the procedures and fee groups applied by countries vary. Some countries are subject to both residence and visa fees, while others are exempt from visa fees, while others are exempt from residence fees.
On the other hand, if a foreigner does not have social security and requires private health insurance, additional insurance costs will be incurred. Insurance costs vary depending on the individual's age.
2. CAN I PAY THE DEPORT FINE UPON ENTRY?
If you arrive without a visa or work permit from the consulate, you will not be able to pay the fine and will be sent back to your country. You may even be subject to illegal entry proceedings. You can only enter and pay the fine if you have a visa in your passport. 3. CAN I APPLY FOR RESIDENCE AFTER THE VISA EXPIRES?
If you completed the 30, 60, or 90-day period upon your initial entry, or 90 days within 180 days, but have not applied, you have an additional 10 days legally to schedule an appointment. You can apply before exiting by paying the penalty for this 10-day delay. However, if you exceed the 10-day additional period and have no documented excuse (medical report, etc.), you have no other option but to exit and re-enter.
You must also pay the delay penalty upon exit. Otherwise, those who fail to pay the penalty are banned from entering the country for 5 years. This ban cannot be lifted by paying the penalty by someone else here or by you upon entry. Only a visa or work permit obtained from the consulate can lift the entry ban.
4. WHEN SHOULD A FOREIGN RESIDENCE PERMIT EXTENSION BE APPLIED?
You can apply within 60 days of your residence permit's validity period. You have until the last day, starting from the last 60 days.
5. CAN A RESIDENCE PERMIT BE EXTENDED AFTER IT EXPIRES WITHOUT EXIT?
If your residence permit has expired within 10 days, yes, but if there is a delay of more than 10 days, you must exit and re-enter.
6. WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR A FOREIGN RESIDENCE PERMIT?
The legal period for a foreign residence permit varies depending on your country of citizenship. Some countries require an application within 30 days of entry, some within 60 days, and some within 90 days.
